The Blockwerk Sound varies from speedy Electronix and Groove to Drum n Bass and Soul, Reggae, Dub and Dancehall. Musical influences from eastern countries appear frequently. Listening to a Blockwerk live gig is somehow like listening to a skillfully arranged DJ Set, by a DJ who is willing to cross lines. The band's live performing style is a combination of thoroughly arranged clubmusic, composition and improvisation. Since its foundation Blockwerk has gone through many different musical phases and influences.
