the label about this release:
Previously unreleased double CD from one of the giants of Brazilian Music featuring highly sought after versions of Milton classics recorded between 1974 and 81. Featuring classic Milton tracks such as 'Os Ecravos De Jo', 'Ponta De Areia', 'Minas', and 'Maria Maria', Milton considers these the 'definitive' versions of his classics. The CDs are soundtracks to two ballets performed in Brazil in 1974 and 1981 and are packaged in a luxurious 8 panel Digipack that includes an introduction from Milton himself, a 16 page booklet with detailed sleeve notes written by respected UK world music journalist Sue Steward, English translations of the song lyrics as well as never before seen photographs from the ballets - it's a must have package for any Milton fan as well as the perfect introduction to one of Brazil's biggest musicians. If you only buy one Milton Nascimento CD then make sure this is it!
The CDs feature a who's who of Brazilian artists from the 70s - artists in their own right who had huge individual careers in Brazil and were the core of Milton's group of astoundingly creative musicians:
* Aleuda - Brazil's maverick vocalist and percussionist
* Paulinho Jobim - master guitarist, flutist and 1st son of Antonio
* Nana Vasconchellos - legendary afro influenced percussionist
* Robertinha Silva, Wagner Tiso, Novelli, and Horta Toninio, collectively known as Som Imaginario, Brazil's most influential psychedelic band.
