With their 7-inch-Single-Series ̅lectric Blanket۠satisfy their thirst to release music off the beaten track. After the sucsess with their first single I Never Ate That Bird earlier this year, they now spout ̍y Eyes My Heartۮ In this new song, the Indie-Pop-Band tinkers a sheer trampoline of confidence out of charming guitars, casio-synths and playful drums. First, singer Helenka is lecturing herself about the benefits of beeing cautious, but shortly afterwards she jumps into new adventures again. It is also this ability to believe in luck again and again, which let the band survive many onerous times. "We somehow wrote ̍y Eyes My Heart۠also to pluck up our courage again", says guitarist and soundwizzard Patrick Lerjen. "With our shyness we sometimes unintentionally mob our chance to success. But without playing music we shrink like a pot plant on a waterdiet. It is difficult to stop, when we see how happy we can make us and the fans with these songs." And it's a good thing they keep going, because with My Eyes My Heart Electric Blanket yet again prove their talent in writing chatchy popsongs with a darling heart. ̌oose Edit۠The ̌oose Edit۠actually accrued on a whim. It is the song's more down-to-earth twin. A warm Synth flute, one relaxed strumming guitar, handclaps and the whole welded together from a four to the floor bassdrum. Reduced to these essentials it develops its subtle but persuasive attraction. ̓eelenluft Remix۠For once more the band didn't hesitate to assign one of its secret favorites to do a Remix. Producer and choice citizen of Berlin Seelenluft aka Beat Soler (Top hit Manila) showed himself delighted of the song, and therefore maintained it's structure. Around the song he built a new world for it to live in and thereby bridges seemingly incompatible worlds; Happy plastic drummachines flow into a Chorus which radiates an epic, soothing gravity. ̅lectric Blanket۠Since their get together in 2002, Electric Blanket have released an ep (2002) and a first album "It's OK It's Not OK" (2006) in Switzerland. During this time they had the opportunity to play at such important places like the ̊azz Caf黠in Lodon, the international Festival ̒ock Oz Arenes Avenches۠or the ̒adio ParadisoۭShow of Swiss National Radio RSR. They also have been asked to remix the song ̗holesome۠for famous London based Singer Nicolette (ex. Massive Attack/Talkin' Loud), which has been released worldwide on Early Records. Singer Helenka and guitarist/electronic-performer Patrick started the band as a straight electronics & vocals-duo and transformed themselves in a step by step metamorphose into todays form as a more guitar centered trio together with drummer Julian. What stayed the same since day one is the bands commitment to unconventional pop songs around Helenkas neurotic cosmos.
