Following the unexpected death of the Sultans of Swing in 2006, the two Viennese musicians, Peter Hartwig and Chris Isepp, are again united after a three-year creative break. The result, a surprisingly unconventional hyper-pop tune. As King Electric, the Sultan's new alter ego, the pair has at last released "Da King", their comeback single, heralading their forth coming album. The boys have already shown in recent years their feeling for catchy tunes with hits such as "Summerbreeze" or "The way you feel inside", which were ranked in radio- and club charts worldwide. King Electric: "Our new release, "Da King", is just another example of our definition of pop music. We started again because we wanted to see how far we could go with our music. King Electric is a pocket full of quotations of our lives and all the music we love." (Interview: Radio Onda Rossa/Italy) "Radio Mix" is immersed in the world of fairground kitsch and circus glamour. Bloodthirsty clowns, eight-breasted sirens and Polansky's dancing vampires spellbind the listeners. Driven by an addictive bass line and intensively solid beats, ensnared by eccentric synthesizer sounds and rowdy funk guitars, "Da King" prowls the land as an insatiable predator of music souls. Do you really wanna sell your soul to fame! Do you wanna ride a benz and a private plane! Like a top notch bitch in a nice fame game! With a million dollar talent and a 5-cent brain! "DJ Stingray Mix" by Sherard Ingram (aka DJ Stingray) is a deep, almost industrial down-tempo electro spider from the Motor City. Ingram is well known for his collaborations with Drexciya (as the official Drexciya DJ) and his works with Carl Craig on Retroactive and Planet E as Urban Tribe. His career spans almost two decades of relentless Detroit techno, house, down-tempo and more recent releases since he began as a DJ with his friend Kenny Dixon Jr. in Detroit's legendary Motorcycle Club. With "Flying King Mash Up Mix", King Electric pull out of the hat their 2003 club hit, "Flying Carpet", and fuse it with Vocoders and vocals of the Radio Edit into an "uplifting" four-to-the floor dub version. The old master, Cristian Vogel, has given a massive injection of extra punch to the "deep house track with a great deal of understated funk and shuffling beats to perfection (De:Bug)" in the re-mastering.
