FREUD is a guitar-band that combines from Rock to Pop and Synth-sounds which makes for its unique charm.

Surprisingly twists and ideas contribute to the truly convincing compositions of FREUD.
Purposely the lyrics do not go into depth, in order to tell us why there is no fun in life for anyone of us anymore.
What FREUD wants is simply to entertain, shed light on the sunny side of life and keep worries out, of course not neglecting the occasional grief of heart.
"Best Most Beautiful", der Name des aktuellen Albums der Wiener Freud, erweckt den Eindruck, dass jene Band gerne mit Superlativen arbeitet. Aber warum auch nicht? Das Sextett bietet seit langem wieder anständigen Indiepoprock aus Österreich, ohne dass man daran auch nur einen Kritikpunkt finden könnte. Die Songs geraten dabei ganz nach den großen Vorbildern aus den Sechzigern, wie den Animals oder den Beatles, stehen diesen aber in nichts nach. Zusätzliche musikalische Elemente wie Tompeten oder elektronische Keysounds sorgen hingegen noch für die nötige Autonomie um nicht als Trittbrettfahrer jener abgestempelt zu werden. Freud sind ein Stück Musikgeschichte, erfrischend ins 21. Jahrhundert transponiert. (Pascal Honisch)
